Corporate Puppy with a Purpose®

For the next 14 - 16 months, your organization can be part of the Guide Dog Foundation “puppy raising team” to help a puppy become either a guide dog for a person who is blind or has low vision. 

With the guidance of an experienced puppy adviser in your area, your team can help raise and train the puppy. (Can scale based on organizational involvement)  At the end of the 14 - 16 months, the puppy will continue their formal guide dog training (3-6 months) with a certified Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, and will be matched with a person who is visually impaired. 

What's Involved

  • Partnership between a corporation and the Guide Dog Foundation. 
  • Opportunity to play a vital role in the development of a future assistance dog.
  • Participate in welcoming an 8 week old puppy; be a part of caring for, watch as they grow and assist with teaching and socializing them until they are 14 and 18 months old. 
  • Puppy will then be returned to the Foundation to move ahead with its formal training. 
  • The sponsoring company will receive training updates on their dogs progression within our program. 
  • Once the dog is placed with its handler, the company will be invited to attend their dogs graduation ceremony here on our campus in Smithtown, N.Y., join us for a VIP tour, meet the student and recognized in the Annual Report as a Major Donor.

For the next 14 to 16 months, Deloitte’s US Cyber and Strategic Risk leader and principal, Deborah Golden, will raise Benny – taking him through his puppy raising milestones and providing socializing opportunities around DC and eventually on her travels around the world. PenFed Credit Union

Established in 1935, Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed) is America’s second-largest federal credit union, serving over 2 million members worldwide with over $26 billion in assets. On June 23, 2020, PedFed announced the sponsorship of a future service dog through America's VetDogs and welcomed an 8-week-old male yellow Labrador Retriever named Ace to the PenFed family.  

For the next 14 to 16 months, PenFed staff will help raise Ace and provide common day-to-day socializing opportunities and exposure to new and diverse surroundings.  They will also help teach him basic obedience, such as how to walk on a leash, sit and stay, down, and to come when called. This is the seventh service dog raised by the organization.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment 

Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is America’s leading sports and entertainment family where their people, players, teams and events bring excitement and joy to millions.  Monumental announced the company will welcome a service dog in training through America’s VetDogs. MSE staff will raise and help train the dog to become a service dog. “Scout” will join the MSE family on January 30th.  MSE Chairman & CEO Ted Leonsis, and his wife Lynn, were also inspired by Captain’s journey to D.C. As a result, the two committed to donating $50,000 to sponsor the cost of raising a second dog through America’s VetDogs. 

MSE staff will raise Scout, an 8-week-old male yellow Labrador Retriever, for the next 14 to 16 months during which time the dog will undergo basic training and socialization.  MSE invites you to follow Scout’s journey on social media.
