Acceptable Toys

It's important that the pup you are raising has toys to play with in your home. Below is the list of acceptable toys that you can use for the puppy. We will provide you with a starter Nylabone and you can purchase additional toys. Below is the list of acceptable and unacceptable dog toys you can purchase for the puppy you are raising.

Unacceptable Toys

  • Flavored bones
  • Rope toys
  • Rawhide
  • Shoes or socks
  • Sticks
  • Gummy or soft bones
  • Plastic bottles
  • Vinyl toys
  • Soft toys
    • Can be used as a training tool with instruction from the puppy department
  • Stuffed animals
  • Retrieving toys

Nylabone

Only use the durable bones that are appropriately sized.

Kong Rubber Toys

Only use the rubber toys, no soft toys. Kongs can be stuffed with food for a fun treat!

Deer and Elk Antlers

Some dogs chew too vigoursly with antlers. Pay close attention when you first give the pup an antler to make sure they aren't damaging their teeth

West Paws Zogoflex Toys

Some dogs may chew too hard to be unsupervised with Zogolex toys. Make sure the pup isn't breaking pieces off before leaving before leaving them unsupervised with these toys.

JW Hol-ee Roller

Used only with direct supervision. Some pups can easily break off and chew pieces.

 

Natural Sterilized Bones

Only use empty sterilized bones. Do not purchase the "prefilled bones". Sterilized bones can be stuffed with food for a fun treat!

Nylabone Keys

Only use with young pups. Great for teething and occupying a pup while settling!
