Guide Dog Foundation and Pet Couturier Anthony Rubio Partner For “Dogs on the Catwalk” Canine Fashion Show

Future Guide Dog Puppies & Dogs Will Strut Their Stuff on The Runway to Help Raise Funds for the Guide Dog Foundation 

September 26, 2018 Smithtown, NY - The Guide Dog Foundation is partnering with master pet couturier Anthony Rubio for the 2nd Annual “Dogs on the Catwalk” canine fashion show, sponsored by Marchon, on Thursday, October 11th at the Heritage Club at Bethpage in Farmingdale, New York from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. The event will feature future guide dog puppies and dogs wearing couture fashion Anthony and Sunny walk the runway during NYFE.designs with a special appearance from the NBC Puppies with a Purpose Sunny, Izzy and Camden, to help raise funds and awareness for the Smithtown, New York-based organization. 

Honorary guest, Guide Dog Foundation graduate and Long Island native Matt Sherwood will speak about the impact his guide dog has made since receiving him from the Foundation this past April. "It's the ability to be independent that I'd never had before since I lost my eyesight," said Matt Sherwood about receiving his first guide dog, "So it's very meaningful because it's life-changing."

It costs over $50,000 to breed, raise, train, and place one assistance dog, but the Guide Dog Foundation provides its services completely free of charge to the individual.  All of our funding comes from the generous contributions of individuals, events such as “Dogs on the Catwalk”, corporations, foundations, businesses, and community organizations.
