The Position - Admissions Support Representative 

The Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs have a unique remote employment opportunity for an Admissions Support Representative to work within our Admission Department. 

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager of Admissions and Process Improvements, the Representative will provide support and follow-up assistance for program applicants throughout the U.S. and Canada.   They will perform complex and varied duties, requiring soft skills to successfully work with a diverse group of individuals.
Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years’ experience in customer-service oriented career; public relations or admissions.  Undergraduate degree preferred. A knowledge of blindness and other disabilities, preferable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle the communication of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated capacity for organization, prioritization and efficiency.
  • Detail oriented, self- motivated and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.   Knowledge of iMIS database and GlobalSearch a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as work with others to solve complex issues.
  • Flexibility with work hours and willing to undertake periodic overnight travel.

Physical Demands: 

  -stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the knee.
-drive and/or travel
-lift up to 25 pounds
-exert 20 pounds of force occasionally 

Visual Acuity: 

Near acuity and accommodation are required for ability to see and read text and copy of written material, ability to read forms, documentation and computer screens. 

Hearing Ability:

Ability to interact with staff and public in an informal (in person) or formal way (telephone).

Compensation Package
