    The Foundation was showcased in the opening segment of the Emmy-award-winning series Lucky Dog, which appears on CBS on Saturday mornings as part of their educational block of programming. The series follows the efforts of a husband-and-wife team who rescue a dog, train it, and place it with its forever home. See the segment here!


  • Please join us in welcoming our third Puppy with a Purpose® with our partners at the New York Islanders! An 8-week-old, Black Labrador puppy, will be co-raised with the Islanders and the Foundation to become a guide dog for an individual who is blind or visually impaired.

    Yesterday, our puppy, training and marketing teams were onsite at the training facility to help photograph their annual ‘Pucks and Paws’ calendar with the players – see behind the scenes images here.

  • Our partner Nylabone generously donated new dog toys for all of our graduating guide dog teams in honor of our 75th anniversary.  Check out this compilation of clips to see our students and dogs react to receiving their new toys. Thank you, Nylabone! 

  • Reggio is on a journey to become a working guide dog! “As a puppy raiser, I play a vital role in Reggio’s development as a future assistance dog by caring for, teaching, and socializing him to everything he may see or experience as a working guide dog,” said GDF volunteer puppy raiser Berkley Bryan.   • Join us for annual Dogs on the Catwalk canine couture fashion show fundraiser on October 20, 2021, at the Heritage Club at Bethpage. This year’s event will be even more special as we celebrate the Guide Dog Foundation’s 75th anniversary of providing independence and mobility.  This year will feature an online auction.  Learn more about the event here
