Position Title: Controller
Team: Finance 
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer 
Overall Summary: 
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer assigns, directs and coordinates finance staff in performing all account functions including accounts payable/receivable and payroll.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Develops departmental policies, systems and special financial analysis as directed by CFO.
•Assumes lead role in the preparation and completion of annual audits inclusive of Financial Statement preparation and organization’s Forms 990.
•Assists with the preparation and completion of organization’s annual Operating Budgets.
•Develop, prepare and monitor specific purpose grant budgets.
•Create, implement and monitor internal control processes and procedures.

POSITION ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent in Accounting plus a minimum of 5 years progressive management experience in a not for profit environment.
-Experience in audit compliance and grant accounting. 
-Excellent skills in Excel, proficiency in Microsoft Word and data base systems. 
-Possess broad conceptual judgment and initiative to deal with a varying complexity 
Of accounting issues.  Strong technical and analytical abilities.
