Position Title:  IT Manager, Smithtown, NY


Overall Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the IT Manager is responsible for support and security of the IT infrastructure and technology operations for the Organization. This hands-on role includes support, implementation, documentation, training, and assisting in technology projects at all levels. The ideal candidate brings a broad scope of skills and thrives in an environment where they can apply creative thinking and problem solving to a wide variety of challenges.

Essential Functions:
• Serve as on-prem technology support engineer. Provide hardware / software support and training for staff throughout the Organization focusing on employee functional independence.
• Work directly with departments to analyze and understand requirements, providing technology and support solutions to meet needs.
• Lead collaborative sessions with cross-departmental teams.
• Manage technology operations and ensure reliable service levels according to established goals.
• Assist in developing and documenting IT system policies and procedures. • Work with IT vendors and MSP to improve capabilities of technical environment.
• Assist in developing upgrades and system configurations following Organization technology roadmap, new configurations or new systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in communicating complex IT concepts to all levels of end user staff.

Essential Requirements:
• Proven experience as hands-on IT support over a broad range of technology.
• Ability to independently identify and address issues.
• Strong understanding of Entra/Active Directory, Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Intune/Apple Business Manager experience.
• Cybersecurity training and knowledge of best practices.
• Server virtualization environments.
• PBX and hosted phone solutions.
• MFA deployments.
• A/V conference systems.
• Network infrastructure (Firewalls, Switches, Wi-Fi).
• Salesforce implementation experience preferred. Preferred Experience
• iMis database experience a strong plus.
• Non-profit or Membership Organization experience preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL reporting and performance tuning.

Physical Demands:
The employee is required to:
• stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor
• drive and/or travel
• lift 25 pounds and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally

Visual Acuity:
• Near acuity and accommodation are required for ability to see and read text and copy of written materials such as instructions and manuals for assembly and operations for various office equipment.

Hearing Ability:
• Ability to interact with staff, public in an informal way or formal way during the business day.

Work Environment:
• Employee is exposed to office, kennel, and residence environment. This includes animal hair and dander and cleaning and antibacterial cleaning solutions.

Compensation Information:
• The expected salary for the position is $120,000 per year. The anticipated starting salary will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
