Community Engagement

The Guide Dog Foundation and its sister nonprofit, America's VetDogs have an amazing network of volunteers that make up our Community Engagement team. These volunteers help to educate the public about our organizations and the important work of guide and service dogs.

Our Community Engagement team attends events for service clubs such as the Lions Clubs, Knights of Columbus, and Rotary Clubs, churches, schools, temples, and community service groups like Girl Scouts, etc.

To request a member from the Community Engagement team to visit your group, fill out the following online application form. We ask that you please submit this form at least one month prior to the date of the event. Please note, we do make every effort to fulfill all requests. As we are based in Smithtown, New York, events within our tri-state area are easier to fulfill. If you submit a request for a speaker outside of our region, we will try to accommodate the best we can.

If we are unable to accommodate your request, a staff member will reach out to you and send along informational reading materials and videos.

If you have any questions, please email: Speakers.Bureau@GuideDog.org

VetDogs Speaker Request

Our speakers look forward to educating you and your group about our guide and service dog programs. We are always looking for new donors, sponsors and volunteer puppy raisers.  At this time we are currently focusing our speaker requests towards service clubs such as the Lions Clubs, Knights of Columbus, Rotary Clubs, churches, temples, and community service projects that gather items for toy/towel drives.
