The Guide Dog Foundation's Inaugural
Stroll & Roll Presented by Marchon

 stoll and roll marchone 2014

For the past 25 years, the Guide Dog Foundation’s annual bike-a-thon has been one of our most popular events, and last year, our first Wag ‘n Walk dog walk had over 200 participants. This year, we have combined these events to create the inaugural Guide Dog Foundation Stroll & Roll.  On Sunday, September 28, 2014, join us for this fun family, and pet friendly event to benefit the Guide Dog Foundation. Download the event brochure HERE Click here to see the event promo video.

You can "Roll"

Bike riders will now leave from The Rinx at Hidden Pond Park in Hauppauge. The Suffolk Bicycle Riders’ Association has developed new and exciting routes through central Long Island, ranging from flat terrains for casual riders to challenging courses for experienced bikers.

Rides start at 10 miles and go up to 63 miles. Depending on the ride’s length, riders will tour Ronkonkoma, Holtsville, Yaphank, Rocky Point, and Wading River.

The 10-mile and up tours are escorted by volunteer marshals from the Suffolk Bicycle Riders’ Association (SBRA). The 52- and 63-mile tours will be un-escorted; participants ride at their own pace using the route cue sheets provided.

Helmets are required for all riders. Emergency support vehicles (SAG) can assist riders with difficulties. Rest/water/food stops are available along the routes.

If you want a more rugged ride, try the Rinx 1.25-mile mountain bike trail. This is an un-escorted ride; start anytime between 8 and 10 a.m. Make one, two, or three loops.

Or you can "Stroll"

Don’t feel up to “rolling”? Why not “stroll” instead? Take an easy hike through Hidden Pond Park on our family-friendly 2-mile dog walk. (No dog? No problem! Just pack up the kids or bring a few friends and saunter around the park.)
