Charlie - Carry
Now that Charlie is comfortable holding a dumbbell we have been working with him to carry a bag while walking next to Olivia. Some veterans have crutches or manual wheelchairs that keep both of their hands in use and having a dog that can carry a bag containing their purchases or personal items can be beneficial. (Charlie will be able to help a veteran carry a few groceries to the car or their water and wallet as they walk down the street.) Stay tuned for what Charlie learns next on his way to becoming a service dog!
Special service dogs like Charlie, cost more than $50,000, but disabled veterans NEVER have to pay for their dog and training at America’s VetDogs. To kick off this special May campaign, we are thrilled to announce that a team of generous America’s VetDogs donors has already committed to the first $250,000, but we need your help to raise the remaining $250,000.
