Charlie's First Week

Hi everyone! You sure know how to make a guy feel special! Olivia, my puppy raiser told me that I would have a lot of big adventures this week, and she wasn't kidding! The TODAY staff and their guests have been so welcoming and so supportive of my mission to one day be a VetDogs service dog for one of our country's heroes.

The West Point Band gave me a grand entrance, and I couldn't believe my eyes that all those people on the plaza were there to see me! I had to take it all in for a minute, but then I remembered what we had practiced earlier that morning- strutting down the runway! I also got to meet Benjamin, a certified service dog along with his amazing handler, Joe!

To date, I have smooched Usher, been hugged by Dolly Parton, and met the talented Final Five. Those girls were all wearing fancy collars with big gold dog tags on them!

My five sisters also came to join me on the Plaza, and we had a blast playing with the toys that Petsmart gave us.

Right now, I'm settling into the city environment and everything that comes along with being on TV through lots of snuggling, playing, treats, and fun. I also really like my little area in the Orange Room. My new bed and toys can't be beat!

I frequently like to observe the activity upside down from the arms of my puppy raiser. Soon we are going to start playing some training games so that I can learn the ropes to become an awesome service dog for a veteran or first responder. You'll have to check it out! I'm so honored to be TODAY's Puppy With A Purpose, and hope to make you all proud!

Sending you wags and play bows,

Charlie
