Eileen Guarascio, Kennel Volunteer Coordinator, sits with her arm around a Yellow Labrador.
Two kennel volunteers free-run a Black Labrador Retriever who is carrying a ring-toy in her mouth.

These volunteers help exercise and mentally stimulate the dogs who are in our kennel. Volunteers play and walk with the dogs in the enclosed yards on our campus. Notes: Due to the size of our dogs, volunteers should be able to handle a 70-pound dog. All kennel volunteers must be 14 years and older. (Proof of age is required.) Young adults between the ages of 14 and 18 must provide a signed parental consent before beginning volunteer work.

Please note that there is currently a one to two year wait for volunteers offering to work on the weekend. For volunteers who can work on a week day there is a six to nine month wait.

Hours of volunteering:
Shifts range from one hour to four hours long. Shifts are available during the week. Requires a commitment of two hours per month.

Orientation:
Volunteers must attend an orientation session prior to their first day of volunteering.
